All Infiniti FiresTM Gas Grates use our Flame DancerTM burners. These have a flame that exits the grate in a vertical sheet of flame about 100mm high if left uncovered. The design of the burner creates a flame that dances, hence its name.
If covered the flame effect will spread across more of the grate and give a more traditional fire look.
The design of these grates is such that the amount of carbon monoxide/dioxide produced is minimised, to make the fire safe to use without the need to have a chimney.
With no heat loss up a chimney, our Flame DancerTM Gas Fires are superb for the economical heating of open plan living spaces.

Key points about all flue-less gas fires
Hot Air Rises
Flue-less gas fires/heaters feed hot air into a room. Hot air rises. A flue-less gas fire/heater requires a ceiling to distribute the heat around the room. The lower the ceiling and the better insulated the ceiling, the better the heat is spread. Flue-less gas fires/heaters are ineffective heaters in rooms that have abnormally high ceilings, exposed roofs or double volume spaces. The exception to this rule is if there is a ceiling fan that can blow the heat back down.
Match Size Of Flue-Less Gas Fire To The Room
It is best for the efficient and odourless performance of these gas fires, that the heating capacity of the fire be sized to be a little larger than the room it is being installed in. Putting a high heat output gas fire in a room that is way smaller than the fire’s heating capacity, will result in a high build up of CO/CO2 as well as an odour in that room.
Particles In The Air
A flue-less gas fire/heater draws in air from the room it is installed in, takes this air through its combustion process and returns this heated air into the room. Any particles in the room’s air could be burnt in the combustion process and could introduce an odour into the room. It is best that no aerosols are used in the room where the gas fire is installed for a minimum of 3 hours before the fire is lit.
Legal Minimum Room Size
As flue-less gas fires/heaters consume oxygen and produce small amounts of carbon monoxide/dioxide, adequate air circulation is essential to ensure peak performance of this appliance.
It is ideal that some permanent ventilation occur, either in the form of air bricks or gaps around external doors and windows, so that fresh air can be introduced and stale air removed.
Refer to the table on the Product Directory Sheet, detailing information on the flue-less gas fire you are considering purchasing, to confirm the following:
- Heating capacity of the unit
- Legal minimum room size this unit can be installed into
- Permanent ventilation required if the legal minimum room size is not met
We recommend that should the legal minimum room size exceed the volume of the room that you intend to install this flue-less gas fire into, you down size heat output of the Gas Fire to one that is legally compliant.
Safety features of infiniti fires flue-less gas fires
Infiniti Fires Flue-less gas fires are equipped with flame failure devices. These ensure that the gas supply is automatically switched off should the pilot light cease burning. Our gas fires also have an oxygen depletion sensor which will automatically switch the fire off, if it detects a low level of oxygen in the room.
These safety features make Infiniti Fires Flue-less Gas Fires very safe to use.
